Intention Setting

This week I wanted to discuss intention setting. If you set an intention for something, you are taking a step towards mindfulness. With intention you are setting yourself up for awareness and presence with what you are about to do, whether that be an intention for the day- the week- an activity- a meeting. Slow down and consider how you want to show up for something, it will bring a sense of calm to the moment you are in and prepare you for the experience.

How do you set an intention? You can think about how you want to feel and how you want to be and put yourself into that mindset. Then you check in with yourself throughout the time frame and see how that is going for you.

For a simple start to this, fill in the blank-

I would like to feel ____ today.

Then, througout the day take a moment to slow down and remind yourself of the intention and ask yourself how it is going. This will help you tune in to what you need in the moment and to listen to your body. It will help with presence and not feeling like you are autopilot.

Remember, lots of self grace and you can reset and return to your intention at any moment.
